John Olmanson enters his 1^st year as Head Women’s Volleyball Coach with DCTC. He spent the previous 10 seasons as the head coach of the Bethany Lutheran College Vikings Volleyball team. He is the winningest coach in BLC’s program history in the NCAA Division III era. In his time with the Vikings, Olmanson has coached multiple All-Conference players and coached the Vikings to advance to the UMAC postseason tournament in four of the last five seasons.
 
Olmanson brings with him a wealth of experience at the collegiate, high school and Junior Olympic club levels. Before coaching at the collegiate level, he was the head coach of Como Park High School where his team went 10-2 in conference matches in his last year. He is the former owner of  SPIKE Performance Camps and Clubsota Volleyball. He also coaches for IMPACT volleyball out of St. Paul and has a variety of coaching certifications from USA Volleyball. He is currently on North Country Region’s Board of Directors and stays active through various other athletic associations, camps, and clinics.
 
He resides in West St. Paul, Minnesota, with his wife Sarah and his two daughters, Emma and Olivia. He is a native of Nicollet, Minn. and has lived in the Twin Cities for 30 years. When he is not coaching, John enjoys time with his family traveling, camping and boating.
