Blue Knights Volleyball Signs Destiny Cox

The Blue Knights volleyball team has announced the signing of outside hitter, Destiny Cox, from South Saint Paul and Simley High School.

" I am thrilled to have Destiny as a part of our program. She has a heavy arm and will provide some power at the outside hitter position. She is very athletic and has a lot of untapped potential. She will make an immediate impact on the court and I can't wait to start working with her!" said head volleyball coach, Jen Bowman.

We asked Destiny some questions to get to know her better.

Tell us a little about yourself and about your volleyball history up to this point.

My name is Destiny I am 20 years old, in school for child development. I work as a personal care assistant at senior helpers, I also do fun work on the side modeling. I'm real family oriented, I like spending time alone, outgoing, some would say I'm too nice, I love everything sports, I'm very active. I've loved volleyball all my life, started playing in 6th grade and played all through high school and have always dreamed of continuing the sport through college.

List the years and names of volleyball teams you've played for:

In middle school I played for Simley. Also all throughout high school  I was on WAVE winter league team 2012.

List any volleyball/academic awards you have received:

I lettered in Volleyball in high school, and I used to get student of the month a lot in junior high

Have you played any other sports?

I've played volleyball since 6th grade. Basketball for 3 years in junior high, and also ran track & field all through middle school, and that ended my sophomore year.

What other interests/hobbies or activities do you participate in?

I love art, photography, museums, painting, drawing. I'm a huge nature freak, I love being active, going to the gym. Traveling, anything that has to do with music I'm all in. Reading and binge watching shows on Netflix haha

Why did you chose DCTC and what you are excited about in the coming 2 years?

I chose DCTC mainly because they offer a volleyball team, when I toured the school it felt so comfortable it wasn't overwhelming like my last college, I believe it's gonna be a real good fit for me and I'm so excited to get my AAS in child development also to be on the court!

Welcome to the Blue Knight family Destiny!
