Mikhaila Ness to play volleyball for Bemidji State Fall 2017

Sophomore volleyball player, Mikhaila Ness, will continue her volleyball career for the NCAA Div II Bemidji State University Beavers next fall. Mikhaila was the 2016 Region XIII MVP and was the NJCAA leader in kills/set during the regular season. She was also a 2015 All Region Team member as freshman.

When asked about Mikhaila, Head Volleyball Coach Kevin Ulmer of Bemidji State University said, "We're excited to have Mikhaila join us this coming fall. She has a great attitude and great work ethic which are critical for her success on our team and in our conference. She reaches well, swings with power, and has experience at the college level playing 6 rotations. She's a great asset to our team!"

We asked Mikhaila a couple questions.

Why did you choose Bemidji and what are you excited abut in the coming 2 years?

"I chose Bemidji because it seemed like the best fit for me. Bemidji also offered my program and I really liked the campus.I will be studying Sports Management. I'm most excited to meet new people and to start playing volleyball again."

How did playing at DCTC help prepare you for Bemidji?

"I believe playing on a team with only 9 teammates really helped me grow as an all around player and getting some of the best coaching I've ever experienced has prepared me for the next level."

DCTC Head Volleyball Coach, Jen Bowman, said this about Mikhaila. "We are so excited for Mikhaila! Mikhaila was an asset to our team and made a huge impact on our program in the two years she played at DCTC. Mikhaila's work ethic and determination will help her be successful at Bemidji, and we can't wait to see her continued success!"

The Blue Knights wish Mikhaila the best of luck next year at Bemidji State University!
