DCTC Women's Soccer Opens 5-0

The Dakota County Technical College Women's soccer team has opened their season with a 5-0-0 record. The Blue Knights opened the season at Rochester Community College with a 1-0 victory. Both teams had several good chances to score, but with 39 seconds left in the game, Ashley TeGanvoort converted a cross from Sheima Lara.  The home opener featured Lake Superior as the opponent. Kiley Bigger led the Blue Knights with three goals. The third game of the season was at Crown College, where the ladies played a hard fought 3-2 victory. Sydney Flannery had all three goals for the Blue Knights.  In the fourth game of the season, the Blue Knights had a re-match of the their first game of the season.  The result was very different, as this match was a scoring a thon for both teams, with other numerous scoring chances missed by both teams. The Blue Knights came out with a 10-4 victory. The game was wide open by both teams, with scoring chances coming constantly from both sides.  The Blue Knights opened their conference schedule at home versus Scott County. A year ago, the Women were unable to find a win against conference opponents, but this year, the Women got that win in the first game, as they defeated Scott County 6-1.
