Softball wins two on the first day of the Region XIII Tournament

DCTC defeats WSC and Bay College to head to the undefeated game on Saturday at 2pm vesus the #1 seed Dawson CC

DCTC 5 Williston State College 3

The Blue Knights snagged a late lead and defeated Williston State College Tetons  11-3 on Friday. DCTC secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fifth inning. Courtney Weispfennig, Lexi Lasso, Maggie Hardy, Bailey Larkin, and Deymbre Avalos all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. DCTC notched six runs in the fifth inning. Weispfennig, Lasso, Hardy, Larkin, and Avalos each had RBIs in the frame. Megan Manor pitched the Blue Knights to victory. She went five innings, allowing three runs on eight hits, striking out six and walking one. DCTC scattered 13 hits in the game. Lasso, Larkin, Avalos, and Dabrowski all managed multiple hits.

DCTC 5 Bay College 3

DCTC stole the lead late and defeated Bay College Norse Varsity 5-3 on Friday. The game was tied at three with the Blue Knights batting in the top of the sixth when Bailey Larkin doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs. Heagle was the winning pitcher going seven innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out three and walking one. DCTC had eight hits in the game. Deymbre Avalos and Larkin each managed multiple hits.
