SOFTBALL TEAM STARTS SEASON IN FLORIDA

The DCTC softball team opens its season on March 14th in Clermont Florida at the  PFX Spring Games. The team will embark on a 10 game schedule playing some of the best teams in the country! The season includes playing in the Minnesota Classic in the end of March while traveling and playing all over the Midwest!

This year's team returns veteran pitchers in Kasey King ( So. Oakdale, MN / Tartan HS ) and Megan Thurow ( So. Burnsville, MN / Minnehaha Academy ). Pilar Garcia ( So.  West St. Paul, MN / Sibley ) will play shortstop this year. Amanda Dack ( So. Burnsville, MN / Burnsville HS ) , Miranda Woodward ( So.  Northfield, MN / Northfield HS ) and Caitlin Jones ( So. Plymouth, Mn / Robbinsdale Armstrong HS ) will handle the catching duties along with playing other positions. Newcomers Lexi Lasso ( FY. St. Paul, MN / Roseville HS ), Kaitlyn Nash ( FY. Lakeville, MN / Apple Valley HS ) , Mackenzie Evenson ( So. St. Louis Park, MN / St. Louis Park HS ), Ayanna Iyamu ( FY. Thatcher, AZ / Thatcher HS ) and Laura Bakken ( FY . Shakopee/ Shakopee HS ) all will give the Blue Knights added punch in the lineup at a variety of positions.  Courtney Weispfennig ( FY Hutchinson, MN / Hutchinson HS ) returns after an injury plaques first year to contribute as a utility player.

"The team has a lot of flexibility position wise " says Tom Cross head softball coach. "That will enable us to move people around when we need to. We will need to play solid defense and get timely hitting "

The Blue Knights are a member of the NJCAA at the Division II level
