Weekend win highlight of DCTC's eight team crossover tournament.

Rosemount, Minn. - A 12-run explosion in the fourth inning spurred the Blue Knights softball team to a 17-5 win over North Dakota State College of Science at the Rosemount Irish Dome on Saturday.

DCTC scored in the fourth on an RBI single by Ellie Schneider, (Freshman New Ulm) followed by a two-run double by Jordyn Breitbarth (Freshamn Hilo, Ha), and a RBI double by Annica Sierra (Freshman St. Paul). Schedule proves difficult of young Blue Knights

Head Coach Tom Cross knew his team was in for a learning curve this spring with his Blue Knights softball squad.  With lone sophomore Trena Larson(Prior Lake), the Blue Knights freshman dominated team continues to grind through a challenging non-region schedule.   Earlier in the crossover weekend, DCTC lost 8-1 against Iowa Central Community College followed by a 13-0 loss against Des Moines Area Community College.  On Saturday, Madison College shut out DCTC 9-0.

Up Next!

The Knights are now 4-11 in independent play prior to the start of the 16 game regional schedule which begins next weekend at home against Lake Region (ND).  Double headers start at 1pm on Fri. April 3rd and Sat. April 4th.
