Men's Soccer Player Gets Look At The Professional Level

Dakota County Player Gets Look at National Level:

Kapaw Htoo, who played for Dakota County Technical College Men's Soccer Team this past fall, spent part of his January days out of the cold of Minnesota and in the sunshine of Florida. Kapaw was invited to the National Premier Soccer League's (NPSL) player showcase in Kissimee, Florida January 13 – January 15. Kapaw was chosen as one of the top U-23 players in the country. A total of 60 players where chosen to participate in the event representing four regions of the country, the Northeast, Midwest, South and West teams.  Kapaw was on the Midwest team. Kapaw plays for the VSLT FC team in the NPSL.  VSLT is a team that is supported by Minnesota United of Major League Soccer (MLS). At this event Kapaw was able to display his talents in front of coaches and scouts from the MLS, North American Soccer League (NASL), and the United States League (USL).

Kapaw was a first team all-conference player for DCTC this fall. DCTC plays in the Iowa Conference for National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) at the Division one level, which is the highest level of competition for NJCAA Men's Soccer. The Iowa Conference is one of the top conferences in the country if not the top conference from top to bottom. Kapaw was DCTC's Most Valuable Player and Defensive Player of the Year award winner. Kapaw was a team leader and as Mark Obarski, Head Coach at DCTC said, "he was the rock that held our defense together." Obarski, said," that Kapaw is deserving of this honor and was a great representative of DCTC.
