DCTC Men’s Soccer opens season with 2-2 record

Dakota County Technical College Men's Soccer opens season with 2-2 record:

 

Game versus Lake Superior Community College: W 3-1

 

Lake Superior dominated the early stages of the game, but was unable to score.  Dakota County was able to even out the play during the first half.  The majority of game was even play with both teams creating some good scoring chances.  In the end, Dakota County was able to finish the game off with a 3-1 score line. Hamza Abdujalil scored all three goals for the Blue Knights. 

 

Game  versus Hawkeye Community College: L 1-3

 

Dakota County made a trip to Waterloo, Iowa where they played the always-tough Hawkeye Community College.  DCTC fell behind early in this game and was unable to over come the early goal and lost 3-1.  Law Soe scored Dakota County's goal. 

 

Game versus St. Olaf College JV: W 4-2

 

The Blue Knights returned home to face JV team of St. Olaf College from Northfield, Minnesota.  St. Olaf has a history of being a strong program.  The Blue Knights played a very good first half, but faltered in the second half, they gave up two late goals, but were still able to win 4-2.  Goals were scored by Hamza Abdujalil (2), Law Soe and  Kevin Solano.

 

Game versus North Iowa Area Community College: L 1-2 Double Overtime

 

The Blue Knights lost a heart breaker, as NIACC scored the game winner with 12 seconds left in double overtime.  Moments before the Blue Knights had a great chance to win the game, but the NIACC goalie made a great save on Ghislain N'sofor.  The lone goal scored by DCTC was by Hamza Abdujalil, with an assist to Mohamed Hassan.  The game was played intensely by both teams.
