The Dakota County Technical College men's basketball team is ranked #9 in the country on the 2019–2020 NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Rankings for November 25, 2019. The Blue Knights are 8–0 as of December 2, 2019, averaging 93.8 points, 45.6 rebounds and 20.5 assists per game for the eight straight wins—the best start in the program's history.

Interim Head Coach Peter Olafeso reported that the team has six returning sophomores, including Harlyn Owens, 6-3 guard, whose averaging 25.3 points and seven rebounds per game, and Dashawn Walker, 6-6 forward, whose averaging 17.1 points and six rebounds per game. "Selflessness is a thing I have preached since day one," Coach Olafeso said. "I believe teams that play for each other mixed with some talent have chance to do something special.

The team's next game is Monday, December 2, 2019, at
Ellsworth Community College (6–3). The Knights defeated the Panthers 78–64 at home Saturday, November 16, 2019. The team's next home game is Saturday, December 14, vs the Iowa Lakes Community College Lakers (8–2). The game will be played at 2 p.m. in the Activities Building Gym on the campus of Inver Hills Community College in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.
