Two Tight Wins for Blue Knights

Blue Knights improve to 20-6 with three regular season games remaining

Mens Basketball at Dakota County Technical College reached the 20 with plateau for the first time in three seasons when they beat Northwestern College of Roseville, Minn. last night 77-70.  DCTC also won a tight regional game in Northern Michigan last Saturday defeating Gogebic Community College 67-64.  The two wins improved DCTC to 20-6 with three games remaining.

DCTC will next be at Hutton Arena (Hamline University) in St. Paul on Saturday when they host North Dakota State College of Science, a NJCAA Division I program, at 7pm.  DCTC's final home game is against Crossroads College at Hutton Arena on Tuesday at 7pm. The Blue Knights final regular season game is on Saturday February 21st when they travel to Iowa Lakes Community College for a 3pm to off.

Fast Break Notes:

  • DCTC Basketball will host the first three rounds of the NJCAA Regional District playoffs.
  • Single elimination playoffs begin with a game against Gogebic Community Collage of Michigan on Wednesday February 25th, tipoff at 7pm. All home playoff games will be at the Salvation Army in St. Paul.
  • DCTC and Gogebic played twice this year with the Blue Knights winning both games.
  • DCTC is in its fourth varsity Basketball Season with this season gearing towards the best yet! The inaugural 2011-12 team finished 24-6 and won a regional runner up trophy.
  • Dakota County Technical College sponsors six varsity sports and provides scholarship opportunities for: Mens and Womens Soccer, Volleyball, Mens Basketball, Baseball and Softball
