Blue Knight Baseball 2020 Schedule Announced

Dakota County Technical College head baseball coach Matthew Erzar has announced the 2020 Schedule baseball schedule on Monday, Dec. 23rd.

The Blue Knights will open the season with six games in US Bank Stadium beginning with a doubleheader versus Rainy River Community College on Friday, February 21
st at 9pm and a four game series vs Southeast Community College on March 1-3.

During spring break, the Blue Knights will play in the RussMatt Central Florida Invitational. They will play 12 games over the break, including two opponents that played in the college world series last year. RussMatt opponents will be ASA College, Brooklyn (March 11), Mott Community College (March 12), Lincoln Land Community College (March 13), Westchester Community College (March 13), Brookdale CC (March 15), Sussex County CC (March 16), and Kirkwood Community College (March 17). Locations and times will be announced in late January.

After the Florida trip, the Blue Knights will head to Council Bluffs to take on NJCAA D1 National Runner-up Iowa Western Community College March 21-22. Then head home to play a four game series versus Minnesota State Community and Technical College March 28-29.  They will go on to play a home and away with North Iowa Area Community College (April 1 & 8) and Century college (Apr. 4-5)

In the heart of the month of April, DCTC and Bay College will play a seven game series over two weekends for a spot in the NJCAA D2 Region XIII playoffs. The winner of this series will head to the four team double elimination Region XIII tournament on May 8th-10th. The Region XIII tournament will hosted by the MON-DAK Conference Tournament winner. The East Sub Region series will be played as follows:

In the middle of the East Sub Region seven game series, DCTC will play a mid-week home and away with Ellsworth Community College (Apr. 15 & 22) and a weekend at University of St. Thomas (Apr. 18) and versus Hamline University at home (Apr. 19). The Blue Knights will play six-straight home games to end the regular season starting April 29th  as they face Iowa Lakes Community College. DCTC will also host University of St. Thomas May 2, and  will close the regular season with Augsburg University (May 3).


The top four teams in the Region advance to the Region XIII championship May 8-10 hosted by the MON-DAK Champion.

Winner of the Region XIII Championship will travel to the Winner of the Region XI (ICCAC Tournament Champion) for the North Plains District Championship, a three-game series.


Winner of the North Plains District heads to Enid, OK for the NJCAA D2 College World Series.
