Baseball Sweep Bay College on the Road to head to the Region XIII Tournament

DCTC won the region play-in series 4-0 with a 3-1 on Friday. They continued to play well over the weekend by winning all four games. With the series win, the blue knights will head to the Region XIII Tournament as the automatic 3 seed. The location and other three particiants will be determinded tomorrow.

 

DCTC and Bay College will play a seven game series over two weekends for a spot in the playoffs. The winner of this series will head to the four team double elimination Region XIII tournament on May 10th-12th. The Region XIII tournament will hosted by the MON-DAK Conference Tournament winner. This series will be played as follows:

DCTC 3 Bay College 1

Both teams were strong on the hill Friday, but Blue Knights defeated Bay College 3-1. Alex Winslow allowed just two hits to Bay College. In the first inning, DCTC got their offense started. Clayton Harris tripled and Parker Savard drove him in when he singled. Winslow earned the victory on the mound for the Blue Knights. He went seven innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out 12. Harris went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Blue Knights in hits

DCTC 5 Bay College 0

DCTC defeated Bay College 5-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jake Wensmann induced a groundout from Weinert to finish off the game. The Blue Knights opened up scoring in the second inning, when Ian Walker hit a solo homer. The Blue Knights tallied three runs in the seventh inning, they scored its runs on a home run by Henry Laue. John McCaustlin earned the win, he allowed four hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out four. Wensmann threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. The Blue Knights racked up nine hits. Laue and Parker Savard each managed multiple hits. Laue went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead DCTC in hits.

DCTC 13 Bay College 2

The Blue Knights coasted to an easy victory over Bay College 13-2 on Saturday. In the first inning, Blue Knights got their offense started when Brad Goulet hit a solo homer. Blue Knights tallied four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a single by Shane Brown, a sacrifice fly by Trent Fredenburg, and a home run by Henry Laue. Dalton Hoffman took the win, He surrendered two runs on six hits over five innings, striking out six and walking zero. Blue Knights smacked two home runs. The Blue Knights collected 12 hits. Carter Wendlandt, Laue, and Ian Walker all managed multiple hits.

DCTC 8 Bay College 1

DCTC had no trouble on offense today, winning big over Bay College 8-1. The Blue Knights got things moving in the second inning, when Caleb Ditmarson singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring a run. Blue Knights scored three runs in the fifth inning, two came from Joe Garcia's dinger. Tanner Berwald was the winning pitcher, he lasted five innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out three. Ethan Cernohous and Jake Wensmann entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. The Blue Knights collected 11 hits. Ditmarson, Jonah Lewis, and Henry Laue each racked up multiple hits.
