Baseball Splits Weekend Series With Century. Picks up St. Thomas for Tuesday after Scheduling Conflict With DMACC

Splits home and home series with Century College. Scheduled games with DMACC have been changed to St. Thomas JV because of finals down at DMACC

 

Century 2 DCTC 1

Both teams were strong on the pitcher's mound on Friday, but Century was just a little bit stronger at the plate in a victory over Blue Knights on Friday. Alex Winslow started the game for Blue Knights and recorded 21 outs. Blue Knights lost despite out-hitting Century five to three. The Blue Knights got on the board in the first inning. Trent Fredenburg drove in one when he singled. Spencer Kopp took the loss for Blue Knights. He surrendered one run on one hit, walking zero. Winslow started the game for Blue Knights. He went seven innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out nine. DCTC collected five hits on the day. Parker Savard and Fredenburg all had multiple hits. Savard went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Blue Knights in hits.

DCTC 4 Century 2

Blue Knights was victorious over Century, 4-2 Dalton Hoffman earned the win. He lasted seven innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out four. Blue Knights tallied two home runs on the day. Brad Goulet had a two run long ball in the fourth inning. Ian Walker added a two run homer two batters later. Goulet went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the Blue Knights in hits.

Century 11 DCTC 4

Blue Knights fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 11-4 loss to Century on Saturday. The Blue Knights struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Century, giving up 11 runs. In the first inning, Blue Knights got their offense started. Blue Knights scored one run when Brad Goulet tripled. John McCaustlin took the loss, He went two and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on four hits and striking out two. Blue Knights smacked one home run on the day. Goulet put one out in the fourth inning. DCTC tallied six hits in the game. Goulet and Trent Fredenburg all collected multiple hits.

DCTC 12 Century 7

Blue Knights weathered a scare by Century in the third inning where Blue Knights coughed up four runs, but Blue Knights still won 12-7 on Saturday. Century scored its runs on a grand slam by C Musser. Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Blue Knights collected ten hits and Century had six. DCTC fired up the offense in the first inning. Carter Wendlandt drove in one when he singled. Conor Merton got the win for the Blue Knights. He went four and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on four hits and striking out four. Spencer Kopp and Jack Stoddard entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Parker Savard, Henry Laue, and Gus Newman all had multiple hits for DCTC
