Hawken Hanna named Head Soccer Coach

The Blue Knights Athletic Department is excited to announce that Hawken Hanna has been named the new Head Coach for the Blue Knights Men's and Women's Soccer teams! Hanna brings a wealth of coaching experience to DCTC, and was most recently the Men's Soccer Assistant Coach at the NCAA Division II level for Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. He also worked as a sport performance coach with youth athletes.

""I feel extremely privileged to be able to take over as the Head Coach for DCTC Soccer, and to have the opportunity to help these student-athletes find success on an off the field," says Hanna. "Being in the Minneapolis metro area and the high-quality technical programs that the school offers makes DCTC athletics a special place at the NJCAA level. I am excited to come into this environment and find continued growth for both soccer programs."

"We are excited to have Hawken on board to lead our Men's and Women's soccer teams," said Erin Lund, DCTC's Athletic Coordinator. "He has so much enthusiasm and passion for helping athletes succeed both on and off the field, and he will make an excellent addition to the Blue Knights Athletic Program."

Prior to his time at Fort Lewis College, Hanna served as the Head Men's Soccer Coach at Central Community College, where he led the team to three straight playoff berths, and back-to-back Region IX Championships in 2019 and 2020. He has also spent time as the Interim Head Coach for the Women's team at Trinidad State Junior College in Colorado following one year as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's soccer teams. At the high school level, Hanna has held head coaching jobs for both boys' and girls' teams throughout Michigan and Colorado.

As a player, Hanna was a four-year starter and three-year captain at Adams State University in Alamosa, Colorado. As a senior, he received All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference team honors. Hanna was also named as an NCAA Division II Scholar Athlete for his work in the classroom.

Hanna has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Adams State University and also holds a Master's degree in Recreation Management from the University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse. He currently holds an "Advanced National" Diploma from United Soccer Coaches and is a CSCS-NSCA certified strength & conditioning coach.
