Blue Knights Begin To Roll In Regional League

Two time regional champs beging to win in league play.

Rosemount, Minn. – The Dakota County Technical College Baseball team started off regional league play this weekend at home by sweeping Lake Region State College in four straight games.  DCTC has now won five in a row in the last week after dropping one of a doubleheader against Century College on Wednesday.

"I was really impressed with our sophomores this past week who at the plate, led us on the offensive side" said Coach Trent Seaman. "We are starting to play the way I expect to play, we now just need our pitching staff to throw more strikes, and when that happens there is no telling how far this team can go."

The team is about one third of the way through the season and Nick Lacina (Freshman Eagan) leads the team in hitting at .378 while the team is hitting .315 overall.  Nick Seipel (Freshman Inver Grove Heights) is leading the team in pitching with a 2-0 record with 15 innings pitched and 3.68 earned runs average (ERA).

The Blue Knights are now 7-9 (4-0 Region XIII) on the season.  DCTC returns to the road this week with a Wednesday interregional doubleheader at North Iowa before heading to North Dakota next weekend for a four game regional slate at Bismarck State College.
